For well over a decade we were the MC (Master of Ceremonies) for the Seal Beach Wag N Walk, an all day charity event for the Seal Beach Animal Shelter. The event takes place at the Seal Beach Pier, and with my trusty Honda 2000i generator, we've performed without issues for up to 10 hours.
Sound Waves DJ Services is a state-of-the-art entertainment company,
founded by Val Hopkins, a professional DJ since 1990. SWDJs serves the hi and low desert communities in the Mojave Desert, and on occasion the beach communities
from San Diego to Los Angeles.
The company was built on providing the highest quality entertainment services for a multitude of occasions, including but not limited to: weddings, corporate parties, New Year’s Eve parties, Christmas parties, birthday parties, high school reunions,
and animal rescue charity benefits.

About your DJ...
DJ'ing is in my blood. My dad used to entertain his friends when he was in college, and my brother and I both inherited our love for music and entertaining from him. My brother started his DJ business while I was in college studying TV production. I started working for my brother, who trained me in reading the crowd at an event, in order to keep the dance floor full. I worked weekends gigging with him until my television career took off, performing at events with up to 2,500 guests. My view on DJ'ing an event is that I'm not one of "those" DJ's who loves to hear themselves talk. I'm all about the music, and keeping people entertained. Of course I make any announcements necessary, but my focus is on keeping the guests happy, first and foremost.

In addition to having radio legend Raechel Donahue as my dear friend and mentor, I also ran the boards for other Los Angeles DJ's on 95.5 KLOS, as well as a few DJ's at WestWood One Radio Networks in Valencia.
